Every number below was read from the official notice, bulletin or FAQ on the date shown. SSC and RRB now capture the photo live and only take a signature file. Requirements change each cycle, so confirm on the official page before you apply.

Sizes are the official file-size bands; pixel values are exact where the source gives one figure, a range where it gives minimum and maximum, and the stated physical size where it gives no pixel figure at all. Thumb impressions, hand-written declarations and PDF certificates are listed on each page.

SSC now captures your photo live in the application — only the signature is uploaded: JPEG/JPG, 10–20 KB, about 6.0 × 2.0 cm. From the CGL 2026 notice.

RRB now captures the photo live on rrbapply.gov.in — only the signature is uploaded: JPG/JPEG, 30–49 KB, at least 140×60 px at 100 DPI, inside a 35×20 mm box.
