Resolution is the whole game
A PDF page has no pixels — it is instructions, drawn at whatever size you ask for. Most converters pick a low fixed resolution and hand back something fit only for a thumbnail. Here you choose: 72 DPI for screen, 150 for a readable copy, 300 for printing or OCR, 600 for archival.
The exported files also declare that density. An image marked 300 DPI prints at its intended physical size instead of four times too large, which is what happens when the density is missing and software falls back to 72.
PNG or JPG?
PNG is lossless, so text and line art stay sharp, and it can keep the page background transparent for compositing. Files are larger. For scanned or photographic pages, PDF to JPG is a better trade.

- Can I keep the background transparent?
- Yes. PDF pages have no background of their own, so the usual white is painted on. Turn that off and the page exports with transparency, which is what you want when compositing it into something else.
- Why choose PNG over JPG?
- PNG is lossless, so text edges and line art stay crisp with no compression artefacts, and it supports transparency. The trade is much larger files.
- Can I convert only some pages?
- Yes. Leave the page box blank for every page, or type a range such as 1-3, 7.
- Are my files uploaded?
